6 months ago I moved into my current apartment. It’s the first I’ve had that I can’t smoke in. The Horror. No bowls, joints, and certainly no blunts inside. This would almost be a deal breaker if it wasn’t for the difficult Chicago housing market. With that being said, my dry herb vaporizer usage has skyrocketed.

I’ve been hitting my XQ2 pretty much everyday since I moved in. Even as I write this, I have a bowl loaded at 380F. I primarily use the whip attachment. The tubing drapes across my desk, sometimes pushing the space bar for me. My XQ2 got a good amount of usage at my last apartment, But primarily being a joint smoker, it was a secondary piece. Its usage has probably gone up 5x since my move. I’ve really come to appreciate the XQ2 for its consistency, convenience and conserving my tree.

I originally created this content to stress the fact that after 2 years, my vaporizer is still in perfect working condition. I could use a new whip and bag, but the machine itself works perfectly. One of the main knocks on dry herb vaporizers earlier in the 2000’s was their return on price. Many of the units would be expensive and unpredictable. All of my Arizer products of the last 5 years have lasted me. I also currently have a V-Tower and the Argo. The XQ2 has been the best made of them all.

My XQ2 has had multiple years of heavy use, and only been cleaned twice. I’ve switched out the bowl, whip, and bag, once. I say that to say, I don’t treat it the best. I’ve even dropped mine at least twice. I imagine if you’re someone who takes great care of pieces, you could get even more out of it than me.

I want to take this section to issue a warning. Be careful sitting and puffing on any dry herb vape for extended periods of time. They’ll creep up on you. Before you know it, you’ll be uncontrollably high. Somewhere in between telling yourself the truth about yourself and full paranoia. Over my two years of puffing on the XQ2, I have too often looked up after 30 minutes confused on what state I’m in. Just now as I write this, the vape just smacked me in the face. I was unprepared, defenseless you could say. Now I’ve had to hit the second setting on my standing desk, forced to write standing up.

I also just remembered something. People should vape if they like the taste of their tree. If the bud tastes bad when rolled up, it’s gonna taste extra shitty in the vape. This isn’t to insult anyones flower selection, and I don’t know why the vapor tastes so much worse. I’m just the messenger. Hopefully next year when I need something to make content about; I’ll be able to record a video celebrating using the XQ2 for 3 years. 3 years of being forced to stand while I write because I puffed a little too long.
